Fields has collected and donated surplus clothing to the NPO, Yofukupost Network Meeting.
This NPO is committed to helping communities by having unwanted clothing reaching people who need it by selling it in second-hand clothing markets in Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and elsewhere outside of Japan. The NPO also donates money to groups involved in environmental conservation and those benefiting society, the sums being calculated according to the weight of the collected clothing.
We shall continue to cooperate with groups like Yofukupost that are involved in environmental conservation and benefitting society.
As part of its CSR activities, Fields participated in the “Union beautification day at Shibuya Station” sponsored by Shibuya Ward, site of the Company's head office on March 1, 2016.
We have been participating in this event continuously since 2010, 12 volunteers participated in cleanup activities, primarily in focus areas such as around Shibuya Station.
Going forward, Fields Group will continuously undertake a variety of measures linked to local society contributions and environmental protection.
Fields, Sotsu Co. Ltd., and FlyingDog, Inc., the creators of the “ACTIVERAID: Special Public Security Fifth Division Third Mobile Assault Eighth Unit” anime series, have collaborated with the Community Safety Section of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police to produce posters against shoplifting that were displayed throughout Tokyo.
The Metropolitan Police is promoting social and community bonds and encouraging people to do the right thing in its official website with the slogan “Manbiki wo shinai, sasenai, minogasanai” (“Don’t shoplift. Don’t let others shoplift. Don’t be a bystander”). Around 4,000 posters featuring a character in the “ACTIVERAID: Special Public Security Fifth Division Third Mobile Assault Eighth Unit” anime series were put up at 98 police stations around Tokyo, public facilities and other locations, while some 10,000 leaflets were also distributed.
A collaborative video against shoplifting was also produced and shown to a large number of Tokyo residents on large outdoor monitors in 42 locations under Metropolitan Police jurisdiction (e.g. the Alta Vision screen in Shinjuku).
Our Group is involved in a range of activities in the course of its business operations to contribute to local communities and protect the environment.
Since June 2013, Fields employees with a strong sense of volunteerism have previously initiated grass-roots campaigns to collect PET bottle caps and used stamps. To increase the good they are doing, Fields Group is taking their effort Group Company-wide.
PET bottle caps collected from June 2013 to January 2016 totaled approximately 373,000, translating into approximately 534 individual doses of polio vaccine. 3.1 kilograms of used stamps were also collected.
The PET bottle caps and used stamps that we collect are used to support international medical care (in the form of vaccines), lifestyle improvements and education through various non-profit organizations.
Fields will continue to implement a variety of activities that contribute to local communities and protect the environment.
TALKING PUMPs merchandise being developed by our firm (bottles featuring the voices of different characters) has been donated to three orphanages in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward, which is home to our head office. Each facility received 24 items (12 featuring Ultraman X and 12 featuring My Melody), in the hope that they might be of use to the children, encouraging among them the habit of washing their hands regularly.
Fields will continue to make social contributions to help children in their daily lives.
Fields is collecting 658 stationaries that are no longer being used at March 24, 2016, and is working through NGO Jiyu-Jin Foundation to do charitable work with children in Vietnam and Cambodia.
One of Jiyu-Jin Foundation's principles behind its activities states, “We provide 'continuous support' rather than 'temporary assistance.' We mainly help to lead to fundamental changes in the future, such as improving literacy rates and academic progress, through long-term educational support.”
Fields is committed to continuing these activities out of a desire to play a part in helping educate local children, and in the belief that eliminating the inequalities in education stemming from poverty will provide children with a ray of hope for a brighter future.
